Small slingshots are slingshots for light models employing thin amber color rubber rings.
This heavy duty (HD) slingshot is for models up to 80 g /2.8 oz weight and spans around 750 mm / 30 in intended for the use of black rubber motor rubber.
Name:
Slangbella is the Swedish word for slingshot.
Sweden is not only ABBA, IKEA and Volvo, it is much more. Try for example writers as:
Lena Andersson, Frederik Backman, Elin Cullhed, Thomas Erikson, Jonas Jonasson, Lars Kepler, Jonas Hassen Khemiri, Linda Boström Knausgård, Stieg Larsson, John Ajvide Lindqvist, Margareta Magnusson, Henning Mankell, Liza Marklund, Leif G.W. Persson, Sara Stridsberg, Karin Tidbeck, Lina Wolff.
General notes on beginner.zone slingshot/Slangbella models:
Be on the secure side. If the Balsa you intend to use for your fuselage is too soft or too light – reinforce it with an additional 12 mm / ½ in linen band glued along the whole fuselage on one side.
Fins should generally be cemented with acrylic glue on fuselages and hardwood “teeth” between fuselage and fin are one more option to ensure a durable and strong connection.
When you start your model, hold it with outstretched arms as far away from your eyes as possible!
Why not put on goggles when you fly your model as a rubber sling can store and release a massive amount of energy.
Help prevent preventable accidents.
Building the HD Slingshot.
Materials:
Body: heavy beechwood or comparable hardwood 12 mm / ½ in diameter.
Rubber: commercial product as used for rubber motor airplane models, 6mm / ¼ in.
Assembly:
Cut the body at length given on plan. All edges should be sanded smooth. Drill 3 mm / 0.12 in diameter hole. Insert rubber band and knot it as shown in the plan.

Important notes:
Given rubber length is only a guideline. Cut length in accordance to your needs. Long arms need more length than short arms. First try out with maximum length and then shorten if necessary.
Always bear in mind that a rubber of this size is capable of storing and releasing a lot of energy, energy that can cause, if applied wrongfully, a lot of harm and damage.
Therefore never point your model at humans or animals!
When shooting, hold slingshot and model as far away from your body as possible.
Stretch your arms when you shoot!
I always wear safety goggles when shooting the HD slingshot. I strongly recommend that you do the same.
NO ONE BUT YOU IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE USE OF YOUR SLINGSHOT.
Have nice flights with the HD slingshot!
